Nessa quinta-feira, dia 07 de novembro, o PMP-BS/Univille (Projeto de Monitoramento de Praias da Bacia de Santos) emitiu um alerta para o município de Itapoá. De acordo com a mensagem, o responsável pelo trecho 5 (litoral norte de Santa Catarina) do projeto vem registrando, recentemente, diversas aves conhecidas como biguás (Nannopterum brasilianus) com marcas que sugerem agressão. “Apenas nos primeiros dias de novembro, foram mais de 15 animais recolhidos na região da Barra do Saí em Itapoá”, explica a nota.

“As lesões são compatíveis com agressão humana e a maioria dos animais foram resgatados com vida, mas devido a gravidade dos traumas e sofrimento dos pacientes, os médicos veterinários da Univille seguiram o protocolo de eutanásia humanizada”, completa.

Por fim, o alerta do PMP-BS/Univille lembra que maltratar animais – domésticos ou selvagens – é crime ambiental. O papel da sociedade nesses casos é denunciar pelos canais existentes para tal, que são o telefone 190 da PM (que abrange também a Polícia Militar Ambiental), a Secretaria Municipal de Meio Ambiente de Itapoá pelo telefone (47) 98869-1240 ou site itapoa.atende.net/cidadao, no link “Denúncias Ambientais”.

O Projeto de Monitoramento de Praias da Bacia de Santos (PMP-BS) é realizado a partir da exigência feita pelo Ibama (Instituto Brasileiro do Meio Ambiente e dos Recursos Naturais Renováveis) para a concessão do licenciamento ambiental federal às atividades da Petrobrás para a produção e escoamento de petróleo e gás natura na Baia de Santos.
