Por volta das 12h40min deste sábado, dia 10 de março, o Corpo de Bombeiros Militar de Itapoá foi acionado para atender a uma ocorrência de arrastamento no mar envolvendo cinco pessoas, das quais três com grau de afogamento. Elas se encontravam a 200 metros da arrebentação das ondas, o que dificultava o retorno à margem. O fato teria ocorrido nas imediações da Rua 1390.

Ao chegar no local, os bombeiros acionados à ocorrência retiraram as vítimas da água e, imediatamente, conduziram a menina de 11 anos, que estava em pior estado clínico (grau seis de afogamento, quando já há parada cardiorrespiratória) ao PA (Pronto Atendimento) 24 Horas de Itapoá, retornando ao local de afogamento para conduzir as outras duas vítimas.

Posteriormente, uma das vítimas, a qual apresentava grau 3 de afogamento (que é quando há muita espuma na boca e\ou nariz) foi conduzida pelo Helicóptero Águia da Polícia Militar para o Hospital São José, em Joinville.

A menina de 11 anos, infelizmente, veio a óbito no PA de Itapoá.

Informações dão conta de que as pessoas que se afogaram eram banhistas de Imbituva, no interior do Paraná.
